Measuring Diversity of Research

The aim of this project is to develop methods for measuring the diversity of research fields and research organisations. These methods shall enable comparisons between the diversity of fields in different countries and time series of the diversity of national fields and research organisations. Owing to the lack of methods for measuring the diversity of research, most claims about the diversity of research are not empirically supported. We attempt to close this gap by developing bibliometric methods for the measurement of research diversity.
